A dirty filter does not always mean the duct cleaning failed
A furnace filter catches dust from the whole home, not only from ducts. Pets, carpets, open windows, renovation work, return-air leaks and frequent fan use can load a filter quickly even after duct cleaning.
What to check first
Confirm the filter size and direction, inspect return grilles, check whether renovation dust is still present, and make sure the filter slot closes properly. A loose or wrong-sized filter can allow dust bypass.
When HVAC service may be needed
If airflow is weak, rooms are uneven, the furnace short cycles or the filter is collapsing, the issue may involve the blower, duct design, return air or equipment service rather than duct cleaning alone.
